Use ConnectSmart to receive personalized alerts for adverse weather BEFORE you travel. These alerts will allow you to adjust your travel time or take a more comfortable mode to your destination.
How Does it Work?
The ConnectSmart will provide the following weather-related notifications on your particular journey:
Upcoming Events: These alerts will appear as a push notification before your trip, if you have your calendar synced and an event is upcoming.
Trip Planning Sound Alerts: A voice alert will sound explaining the expected adverse weather as you start planning your trip.
Critical and Severe Weather: A forecast alert will appear as a push notification for major events three days before the predicted severe weather. This message will be provided again one day before the event with the latest information.
ConnectSmart weather alerts are informed by the National Weather Service and are provided to you by ConnectSmart for your safety and convenience.
Know that you can turn ConnectSmart’s Weather Alerts on or off in your Pre-Trip settings on the “More” page.
How Does it Look?
When you plan a trip, weather-related messages will appear indicating the upcoming weather conditions in the area you are about to travel through accompanied by a red icon with a white-outlined cloud shown on the top left of the screen. You can tap on the icon to show or hide the message.
When you finish reading the message you can also click “Got it” to continue or cancel your trip
Severe weather alerts are stored for later access in the notification center on the “More” page
